It’s Back! …The HMSA’s ‘Do A Mile’ for EDS Awareness Month

Posted By Donna Wicks, April 26, 2015

Following the success and popularity of last year’s event – we’re delighted to announce that The HMSA’s “Do a Mile for EDS Awareness Month” is back again for a second year!

Whether you want to walk or run, skip or swim, cycle or complete the mile any other way you can think of; the aim is to get the entire HMSA community together to complete enough miles to get between all the HMSA Local Support Group’s throughout the UK!

How Long have I Got?
It doesn’t matter how long it takes to do your mile, and whether you want to do 10 miles on one run, or a mile throughout the month walking to work…the idea is to get everybody involved. The event runs throughout the whole of May.

How do I Join?
It’s simple! By going to our Virgin Money Giving Event Page (click here) and pressing the ‘Start Fundraising’ button on the right of the page, you will be taken through a process where you can sign-up to participate in the event, and create a page to collect your donations online as well.

Within 2 days you will then also receive an email (please remember to check your spam!) with log-in details and a link to our specially designed website where you can input your miles onto our leader board.

What do I Get?
For light entry (£4.90) you will get access to our website where you can input your completed miles and be in with a chance of winning one our 2 leaderboard prizes; alternatively for just £19.90 for standard entry, as well as the above you will also receive a Fundraising Pack in May (containing a T-Shirt, other fundraising goodies and a certificate) and entry into our main prize draw.

What can I win?
We have 3 prize categories for this event – the most miles completed in, the individual who can complete a mile in the most unique way and there’s also a special prize draw for entrants who opt for our main  sign-up option.

If anybody has any questions regarding this event, please contact Ben by clicking here.

Good luck!
