HAZELL JOGLE - Sponsored bike ride from John O'Groats to Lands End

John Hazell (56) and Stephen his 14 year old son have agreed to ride from John O’Groats to Lands End this summer in aid of the Hypermobility Syndrome Association.

If you would like to sponsor John and Steve, please click here.  All sponsorship big or small will be greatly appreciated. Members can find out how to download a form in the members section.

John and Stephen

John has taken part in many sponsored bike rides raising money for loads of different charities.  He has ridden from Bristol to Lands End 3 times in the past, Bristol to London no less than 5 times.  He has always wanted to do, what the professionals call the end to end.  Starting off in John O’Groats, the most North Easterly point of Scotland they will ride the 906 miles all the way to Lands End the most South Westerly point of England.  (Therefore making the trip downhill, ha ha).

Bristol to Lands End

Stephen (aka Steve) has been taking part in these rides since the age of 2!  Ok he wasn’t actually riding his own bike at the time, but was sat on the back of his Dads’.

 Steve aged 2

He has ridden a tandem bike to London, and solo, has completed in the Blue Peter Bikeathon at the age of 8, he’s ridden the hills of Cornwall and various day trips to Glastonbury.

They will be travelling up to Thurso in Scotland on the 24th July; this is a 24 hour journey!  A quick ½ hour sprint to John O’Groats and they will be ready to start around lunch time on Friday 25th July 2008.  The trip is estimated to take around 14 days; they will be travelling on average 65 miles a day, some days much more.  Accommodation each night will be in either Youth hostels or bed & breakfast establishments.
