Pain in HMSEveryone with HMS will know that pain is a dominant feature of the Syndrome. Pain may be acute i.e. from an injury or dislocation or be chronic i.e. longstanding. When pain becomes chronic its effects can be extremely debilitating and may often lead to a downward spiral of depression, fatigue, increased pain, depression etc. Managing chronic pain can be a challenge for both patient and health professional. The links within this section explain the mechanisms of pain in HMS and discuss the interaction of HMS and fibromyalgia (FMS).
